GFCI Receptacle GFCI Receptacle
Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) receptacles are devices used to protect personnel from electric shock when plugging in an appliance which has gone bad. They monitor the current to determine if a ground fault is occurring. If a difference in current is measured between the line and neutral conductors, the device will trigger the built-in trip unit to disconnect the power at the device. The concept of this device is sound, but the failure rate of these devices are high. GFCI devices should be checked and periodically replaced. Call on us to assist you with testing and replacement of these devices in all kitchens, bath rooms, garages, swimming pool, spa, hot tub, and outdoor locations.
